This vial contains a 16 residue oligopeptide derived from the carboxy terminal region of human topoisomerase IIa. The purity of the peptide was greater than 95% as determined by HPLC and mass spectral analysis. Approximately 10 mg of purified peptide were coupled (through a terminal cysteine thiol) to KLH with a heterobifunctional cross-linking agent MBS at a ratio of 1 part peptide to 1 part KLH. The peptide was used to immunize rabbits for antibody production. The resulting antibody reacts strongly and specifically with the 170 kDa Human Topo II protein. This peptide is used as a control reagent in immunofluorescence; it effectively neutralizes the antibody to topo II.
